i'd have to agree with chris here, if you are already a pessemist this book is not for you. the characters are very detached and hard to relate to and the scenarios are implausibe and ridiculous. no depth or feeling is represented in any of the characters actions or speech. i was really kind of dissapointed from a book that was held in such high regard. now i have no problem with old philosophical works but this one just did not do it for me.
