To be honest, I didn't enjoy reading the book at all. The tedious trudge through James's diction made the book far less enjoyable than it was intended to be, but it's mysteries were made far more interesting by the drudgery of the reading. Because you have to think about what James might be implying through his words, you have to think about the storyline, and that draws you into the story itself and makes you question how trustworthy the governess's sanity is. You cannot go into this book expecting an easy read, or you will get swamped by the excessive language and flighty points tyhat james makes. However, go into this book expecting a mental challenge and you might actually get somehting out of it. Keep an open mind if you decide to read it.
