I love Forsters satyrical views on society, and think his mockery of the Victorian middle classes is really funny. The bathing scene is my favourite - it's absolutely hilarious. I'm currently studying for my A levels, so read the book as a comparison with Ishiguro's 'The Remains of the Day.' It was a breath of fresh air to read 'A Room with a View' after Ishiguro's pretty heavygoing novel - but it is interesting to read both and compare the effects of social conventions on both characters. 'A Room with a View' is a light hearted read, but it does have serious undertones - like the not so nice Mr Beebe. Anyway, have to write an essay on Forster's and Ishiguro's styles (lovely) so goodbye.
