I have only finished reading tess and i hve to say, it isnt the most appealing book ive ever read in higher English before. Tess is a bit pathetic and she totally feels sorry for herself all the way through the story till she finally meets Angel Clare again. It does have lots to talk about, but not fantastic for young people to read. I guess thats why its chosen as a Higher english novel then!
