Huxley wrote a letter to Orwell(author of 1984) and said, ÈThe lust for power can be just as completely satisfied by suggesting people into loving thier servitude as by flogging and kicking them into obedience.È By convincing the individuals to enjoy thier daily lives of service, it will cancel the possibility of uprising and rebellion thus eliminating any problems and inconvienencies that might cause people. Huxley says that by continual flogging and kicking them into doing what you want them to do, would pose less conventional and is a big waste of time and energy. On the other hand by somehow convincing them, the people on which they are serving, would not have to waste time and money to force them into doing what they want them to. To accomplish this task, an idea of total unconcious happiness or mind control can get rid of this problem. If everyone was always happy, there would be no threat of groups of people rivaling them. A machine that can slowly lower a person or group of peopleès emotions and knowledge of individuality. This might eliminate the various possiblities of uncomfortable senses such as worrying, pain etc. Though this aspect of life that most people want, a thought of world peace, is this what is best for usÉ Without all these emotions, we pose to be the same as everyone else, no identity, a constant median, no feelings. <br>
