This novel was written in the thirties and yet some of its ideas appear to hold true today. Markets and big businesses control us by telling us what to buy, and we choose to listen to them. These slogans tossed at us through advertisements are very similar to the slogans repeated during hypnopedia. Every year more and more teenagers take up drugs and have sex with different people. Teenagers living a permiscous lifestyle is taking away from normal relationships that people once had. Huxleys views on our world in the future is slowly becoming true.
