This is by far the most insightful psychological study of human nature ever written, in any form. You can see Dostoevsky's mastery in Crime and Punishment, but The Brothers Karamazov is broader, more grand, and tackles the full equation of sin, redemption, and universal truth. Nietzsche pronounced him the only psychologist from whom he learned anything.<br><br>If this isn't the greatest novel ever written, it surely ranks amongst the top three, along with War and Peace and Ulysses.
