There's absolutely no doubt that Dostojevski (or Dostoevsky, if you prefer) is one of the greatest writers in history. And The Idiot is his masterpiece. <br><br>But, prince Mishkin, of course, wasn't an uneducated man, in fact he was educated in Switzerland, where his doctor was his teacher. And again, it's untrue that Mishkin wasn't very bright. Most of the people around him actually did think he is an idiot, but he wasn't. That's actually the whole point.
