I believe that Don Quixote is a story about a man who has a dream of the way the world should be. He wasn't a crazy man, he simply choosed to live out his fantasy. There were number of examples in the story that showed he was able to go back in forth between his world of chivalry and the "real" world. Quixote just said to himself "I'm going to do it my way", as Frank Sinatra said, so he choosed to be a Knight. He clearly welcomed everyone to be part of his dream, but there were no takers. By the end, the pressure to conform, combined with a defeat in battle, Quixote is killed spiritually, which no doubt had an affect on him physically, causing him to become ill and pass away. I think Miguel Cervantes created a wonderful piece of work, a piece of work that will ask many questions of the reader, about themselves and society. Wheather one agrees with me or not about the theme of Don Quixote, I'm everyone who has read can agree, many questions are asked.
