I don't think that someone who is forced to read something is going to have a very objective opinion about it. It sucks because school sucks ; just like math sucks until you grow up and have to carpet your living room or budget for your groceries. <br>I feel that Ethan Frome is a beautiful work. It has a very haunting atmosphere and is very well paced. The longing which Ethan and Mattie feel is almost a palpable presence and is really the centre of the emotion in the book to me.
