Hermann Hesse has a way of showing more with simple words in (sometimes) very few pages than most people "see" in a lifetime... his perception of human beings and their true base emotional motivation is prevelant in most of his works. If one does not connect with Siddhartha - be sure to search those second hand bookstores for his other works... and by good chance you may see yourself in the pages of his understanding that he manefests withing his creatively developed characters... his centrals are key to the understanding of what it means to be human... in his own way I think he was trying to express in his books what he saw as the "greater natures and frailties of humankind" - extalling the beauty of what it means to be alive through contrasting those very frailties and the deeper ties to humanity - creating a greater sense of oneness within us all... common ground - passionate lives within the pages of simple word phrases thoughtfully put together - yes - from the heart of a truely great philosopher and true humanitarian. Thank you Hermann :)<br>
