Siddhartha by Herman Hesse is a story about the journey of a man searching for his inner self. The short story can be enjoyed by people of all ages, as many passages can be interpreted on different levels. In one person's eyes, it can be seen as a conflict between Siddhartha's spiritual and material worlds, full of metaphors to take on a deeper meaning. In another's point of view, the text can be enjoyed as the journey of a boy turning into a man by finding out what is really important in life. At times the reading can be a bit boring, but this is not meant to be an action-packed novel.
