I read Siddharta in German and loved it! It was not just the deep wonderfull message the book conveyed, but the style Hesse wrote in. It sounds like a song and draws you in. I could never read it in English. My love for Hesses work does not stop with Siddharta but I read and enjoyed many of his other books. Indeed I liked his books so much, I am doing a project on him for my leaving cert orals. My friends think Im mad! I just wanted to say Siddharta creates an echo in my heart and would advice people to read it in german.
