Bear with me while I fill you in on some personal background.

In April.2019. I first discovered that I had eye problems. I noticed sudden trouble with reading very small type, which, given my myopia, had never seemed a problem before.

Well, because of the pandemic and related issues, it's taken this long to get treatment for what turned out to be cataracts. Yours fooly is recovering now, but ironically enough, now that my distance vision has cleared up, I MAY need reading glasses. (Believe me, it's ok.)

But two springs ago I was determined to finish that book with tiny print because it is in my humble opinion one of the best novels I've read in the multiple decades I've been upon this mortal coil.

And that book is what I'm thinking about now, as I recover from eye surgery. It is Middlemarch by George Eliot.

And here's the eerie part. As I'm thinking about that book today, I plugged it in the Google machine. Look at this webpage (https://www.coventrytelegraph.net/news/coventry-news/how-george-eliots-201st-birthday-19326072)

What a coincidence!

eerie... I haven't got around to reading George Eliot's works yet, but have been drawn to them after watching a movie about her some time ago.

Ta ! (short for tarradiddle),
