well, i did watch the movie version of it and i was impressed. victor hugo's one of the best artist that cared to portray how a poor but honest man struggles to have a life worthy for a man, not a beast-like existence. in truth, the book's a voluminuous one. read the book and you'll see and understand that every leaf is a part that contributes a lot to the whole effect of the novel.
