I've never read the book on Les Mis. but I first saw the musical when I was 4, as my mum went to see it at the Royal Albert Hall, in 1993 ( I think ), and she taped it for me. I was hooked by the time Valjean comforts Fantine when she was dying. I love historical musicals like Les Miserables! My favourite characters would be Fantine ( played by Ruthie Henshall ), and Eponine ( played by Lea Salonga ). I thought Ruthie Henshall was an excellent singer and very dramatic, and I loved Lea Salonga's voice. I think the story of Les Miserables is truly amazing: very patriotic and also very realistic. My favourite songs from the Les Miserables concert at the Royal Albert Hall, 1993, would be "Fantine's Death", "Stars", "I Dreamed A Dream", "On My Own", and the Epilogue. I loved Madame Thenardier's lines at the end of "Master Of The House"- when played by Jenny Galloway, it was class!! Overall, Les Miserables is the best musical ever!!!!
