Read this book for the first time when I was 12. It only took me a week to finish the unabridged version, I loved it so much. Hugo is a master of description. In the Hunchback of Notre Dame, he described the rose window in the church...when I went to Paris over the summer I was happy to see that it was all as he described. In Les Mis he describes so much more than just a window... he caputres the essence of human emotion.
