All I can do is agree with everyone. It's a masterwork of wonderfully simplified complexity.<br>The stage musical has taken on a life of its own now, but is a scintillating adaptation, worthy<br>of the name and Hugo's memory.Has anyone seen the French film version directed by Claude Lelouche<br>and starring Jean-Paul Belmondo ? It is (for me) by far the best screen attempt, even though it tells<br>a parallel story set during WW2 involving the saving of a Jewish family.<br>A story for all times and all people.
