I started reading this book last month, but thought it was sooooo boring. Yet, it's true, once you get passed the first 100 pages or so it becomes an amazing book that details the personal struggles of individuals that mirrors the conflicts of society. The characters names are difficult, sure, but Andrey Bolkonsky and Nikolay Rostov and all the others are great examples of the different people in this world and how we are all outwardly dissimilar, but inwardly, we all experience, like society in general experiences, war and peace. I loved this book and Tolstoy's other great psychological book, Anna Karenina. I'd recommend it to anyone with a love of history and an interest in human nature
