Hey all,

I have some questions ab C9 of Part 2:

Goldsteins book is in three chapters. What are the main points of analysis of chapter three? Why is war continious in 1984 according to Goldstein? How does Goldstein analyse "Ignorance is Strength"? Has anything changed since Socialism has come? Why are the masses given freedom of thought? What is doublethink? Prove that reality crashes in at the end of this chapter and describe what happens....

I have a suggestion: read the book.

It right out tells you the answer to every single one of those questions...

I will answer a couple of those real quick...

War is continuous to keep the masses impoverished.

The masses are giving freedom of thought because they lack the intelligence to think dangerous things... the book said something about giving the freedom of speech to a dumb (mute) person....

What is double think??? COME ON!!! READ THE (#*@#)*)%@)%@)#$!#&)#@) BOOK AND FIND OUT FOR YOURSELF, YOU LAZY BUM! YOU WANT US TO DO YOUR HOMEWORK FOR YOU???!!! AT LEAST TRY!

I agree with Imafoolonthehill. Read the book. All of the following are explicitely stated in the book, especially double think. And if you really don't feel like reading it, and you just don't want to do your homework, check out Sparknotes or something like it. It will answer your questions.

I mean, I am not against people seeking help for homework when they get stuck... but they should at least try...

I agree...and it's often hard to tell if they are students who care about what they are learning and are just seeking some better understanding of their texts, or if they just signed up to get some quick and easy answers to cut and paste into their Word documents, which is not what the forums are for.
