i thought the book was brilliant. i had to read it in my last year of high school, and ithought the layers within it were fabulous. twain folds satire, ambiguity, internal conflict, external conflict and many other things, into one single journey, told through the eyes of a young boy. huck's "humourless-ness" makes the story even funnier, in a subtle way, as the innocence with which huck retells stories, and does not realise their humour, makes the dramatic irony highly evident, and the book even funnier. i thought the conflict between social classes and the condescending subtlety twain uses with respect to the grangerfords, is highly amusing. the novel was brilliant- i loved it.
