Many of the comments posted on this page discuss the lack of plot and information on characters in the novel. For those of you who disliked the book for these reasons, you have completely missed Twain's point in writing the novel. The novel was not written to be a great entertaining adventure story, but rather a literary satire. It is supposed to point out the flaws in our society through a young innocent. I would suggest doing research on and reading essays about the novel to get a better understanding of what Twain was trying to communicate.
