I believe that this novel is one of America's greatest literary masterpieces. It forces people to look at themselves and face their own valuse in society and how they think about others. The novel is a reflection of a bot how is going through growing pains and is learning how to be more tolerant to people that are different from him. While it isn't the most exciting book to read, the important themes that it revolves around are some that I believe all students should be required to explore at some time duing thier education.
