it has always been my view that portraying the grangerfords as citizens that were looked-up to, respected, and church-going as well as vengeful and grudge-bearing was twain's way of spotlighting some of the hypocrisy of religion and of the society that huckleberry finn lived in and witnessed. <br><br>it was satire. it was well done satire. in the words of twain, "booyah." okay, he didn't say that. but i bet he could have. <br><br>
