When I was first assigned this book in freshman english, I was in total dispair after hearing various comments on the novel. However, once I actually read the book, I found myself wound in as though the character's problems were my own....if you read it, allow plenty of time for understanding and take a prozac or zoloft beforehand, because it's kind of depressing at times!
