I love the Mayor of Casterbridge, I think that it captures the ups and downs of a single persons life, in this case Henchard. I am 11 and agree it is a difficult book ( agree with some past comments I have read) but that is the fun, it brings you back in time and into Henchards shoes. And there are twists and turns in the book that I would never had expected to happen, which made me read on. All in all a welll written book to say the least.
