Back in 1999 I and several friends visited my wifes lovely country of Sri Lanka.(formerly known as Ceylon)....I will never forget the amazing but agonising walk up the holy mountain called "Adams peak".....To catch the dazzling spectacle of the sunrise we started our walk at about one AM In the morning......The steep climb up thousands of broken sandstone steps takes about 5 hours, and Buddhist's, Hindus ,and Muslims are supposed to do this punishing walk without complaining as a sort of act of religious pennance to purify their soul.....carrying my flabby body all the way up this seven thousand plus feet mountain was no easy matter for me,and I confess I complained all the way up ha ha,but I'm glad I did complete the walk,.the whole act of completing such a task and witnesing the beautiful and almost alien lanscape like spectacle of the sunrise beshadowed by this mountain from this most special of places was something that will stay with me forever......heres our musical take on this experience which I was intending making a bit longer in lenth and to be a discussion in more detail of our adventure, but Willpowers wonderfully atmospheric music ran out on us,and this remains our only take to date...We hope you will still enjoy this recording....Heres the link to the page where you can listen to this musical sound poem....

The Hardest Walk

The hardest walk I ever had
The hardest walk we ever had
Into the darkness of that nigh
We climbed those sandstone steps
Lights upon that mountain face
Man made stars atrailing through the sky
Monks chanted into empty hills
Like the sounds of alien voices.

The hardest walk we ever had
The hardest walk we evern had
Walking against time we traveled along
That sandstone mountain edge
Trailed by thousands of people behind
The cold wind blew across our shoulders
Into that space like odyssey
Which was the sky before us.

The hardest walk we ever had (X3)
