I was slightly apprehensive when my English teacher announced to our class that we would be reading classics. We were to pick one out of a range of ten, read it and, after, write an assignment on it.<br>I was the only person to pick Jane Eyre (by recommendation) but I soon found my time spent reading, not boring but exciting. I would look forward to reading more of this splendid book - it was always full of surprises. Death, passion, madness - everything was there.<br>My advice would be don't be intimidated by the word 'classic' - I was 13 when I read the book and I enjoyed every minute of it. Many adults thought I would find it "hard to understand, being too young" but I was consumed by this novel. Once I had started, I couldn't stop.<br>This is definitely one of my favourite books - anyone who didn't enjoy it has to read it again.<br><br>EG<br><br>
