LONDON Westminster Abbey will honor 19th century Irish writer Oscar Wilde, nearly a century after his death following jail and disgrace over his homosexuality.
The abbey is to recall his genius with a traditional plaque in a window in its Poet's Corner, it was announced in the last week.
The memorial will be unveiled in February on the centenary of the opening night of his comic masterpiece "The Importance of Being Earnest," said the abbey's dean, Michael Mayne.
