A POPULAR classic, Oscar Wilde's novel, The Picture of Dorian Gray, has had
many incarnations. There was the movie of many years ago, then in the early
90's several stage versions, including a musical adaptation. Now, under
commission by the Irish Repertory Theatre, Dublin writer/director Joe
O'Byrne has created an unusual stage adaptation. Doing double-duty, he has
woven unique directorial touches into his dark and compelling version.
