Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, Lifeline Theatre has made a name for itself by sticking to a specific collaborative mission -- developing literary adaptations that are always creative and very smart. The latest of these is "The Island of Dr. Moreau," Robert Kauzlaric's world-premiere adaptation of H.G. Wells' 1896 sci-fi masterpiece.

Kauzlaric is a big fan of Wells' work, especially The Time Machine and The Invisible Man, but admits he'd never checked out The Island of Dr. Moreau. He and director Paul Holmquist read the book and watched the movie adaptations. The ...
