Q. Can you tell me anything about this unusual ashtray? When a burning cigarette is placed in it, the legs and fan move. The piece appears to be made of china or pottery, and has only the letters "TT" on the bottom.

A. This circa-1950 Japanese-made novelty is referred to as a "Naughty Lady" nodder. Still being manufactured in various forms today, your ashtray is worth $15-$20.

Q. My husband has three old Tom Swift books, the earliest dating from 1911. The publisher is Grosset & Dunlap of New York. Are they worth anything now?
