The American Civil Liberties Union will hold its second annual Upton Sinclair Freedom of Expression Awards at the Warner Grand Theatre on May 15.
The event will celebrate the 81st anniversary of the author's arrest at Liberty Hill with daylong events including a fair trade rally, book signing, media fair, free boat tours of the harbor and a musical written by Sinclair.
The day's celebrations will also coincide with the 70th anniversary of the death of two longshore workers in San Pedro.
