BALTIMORE - It began with two guys - both great admirers of Edgar Allan Poe - who thought it would be "neat" to drink a birthday toast to their favorite author over the place where the man finally rests in peace.

A few folks found out about the graveside tribute outside Westminster Hall in downtown Baltimore, and they came along, too, that Jan. 19 some 16 years ago. The next year, a few more people came. Someone gave a reading.
