Pathetic Fallacies All you have to do to win an argument these days is show that George Orwell would have agreed with you. In the October issue of The New Criterion, Ronald Radosh attempts to enlist the prestige of Orwell in support of an argument that Orwell himself found repugnant.
In his article, "Spain and the intellectuals," Radosh attacks everyone who still believes that the defense of the Spanish Republic was a "great cause." His point is that a victory for the Republicans would have been a victory for Stalin.
