Exeter Amateur Operatic Society is staging The Scarlet Pimpernel tonight.

The production is Baroness Emmuska Orczy's romantic saga of derring-do set amid the French Revolution's Reign of Terror.

The musical tells the tale of baronet Sir Percival Blakeney and his secret society of 19 English aristocrats who pose as fops while rescuing their French counterparts from the daily executions on the guillotine.

The Scarlet Pimpernel is showing at Exeter Northcott and will run until Saturday, May 3. All evening performances start at 7.30pm, with a Saturday matinee at 2.30pm. Tickets cost pounds12.50 ...
