Herman Melville's visit
to Auburn will be topic
The author of "Moby Dick," Herman Melville, visited Auburn in 1859.
That visit will be discussed by Howard G. Nelson, professor of English at Cayuga Community College, at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the Schweinfurth Memorial Art Center, 205 Genesee St., Auburn. Nelson will also read from his own works.
The event is free and open to the public.
