Herman Melville explores the measurement of time in 'Pierre.' Plotinus Plinlimmon's 'Chronometricals and Horologicals' examines the relation of time to human activity. Plinlimmon replaces the Roman philosopher Plotinus' theory of 'Ouranos,' 'Chronos' and Zeus with his own theory of duality expressed in the parallel between 'Hora' and 'Chronos.'
