Q. How many books has Carolyn Keene written?

A. To many people, Carolyn Keene's a mystery. After all, that name is listed as the author on Nancy Drew mysteries. But the name's not real.

You could say the first Carolyn Keene was Edward Stratemeyer, who wrote the first three stories. He also started the Hardy Boys series under the name Franklin W. Dixon and began the Bobbsey Twins books as Laura Lee Hope.

After he died in 1930, his daughter, Harriet Stratemeyer Adams, took over the three series and rewrote those first Nancy Drew books. But she wasn't the only author. ...
