In "Mrs. Warren's Profession," George Bernard Shaw's characters sometimes orate like practiced pamphleteers as they enact a plot jammed with the tawdriest sort of melodramatic twists.
The combination may sound pompous and corny, but in the right hands Shaw's ethical investigations are vastly entertaining, and the audience at the Olney Theatre Center sits pretty much spellbound through director John Going's brisk, sure production of this 103-year-old drama.
