Actress Gabrielle Drake will bring Elizabeth Gaskell, in her own words, to the New Theatre, Friar's Gate, Exeter, on Saturday.
The show, which includes extracts from novels, short stories and letters, is directed by Richard Digby Day.
It is in aid of the St Stephen's Project.
