AUTHOR and historian Jenny Uglow has been awarded an honorary degree by a Birmingham university.
UCE Birmingham, in Perry Barr, has conferred a Doctor of the University degree in recognition of her outstanding literary achievements.
Her works Elizabeth Gaskell: A Habit of Stories (1992) and Hogarth: A Life and a World (1997) were both short listed for the Whitbread Prize.
