The Man Without A Country: Part 5
Texas Out Of The Map:
Two officers from Texas, Waters and Williams, were at the table when
Nolan asked about Texas. He had not heard anything about it for 20 years. He
had heard about Honduras and Tamaulipas, and until recently about California
where it seems his brother traveled and died. The two Texas men were
embarrassed. So were two other officers. Nolan saw that something was wrong.
Since Ingham was in command of the ship, he had to tell Nolan that Texas could
not be discussed and he changed the subject.
