HOLLYWOOD -- Jane Goodall, the world-famous chimpanzee expert -- primatologist, if you're looking for the exact term -- found her inspiration as a child between the pages of a book. She started reading Edgar Rice Burroughs when she was 10.

"Of course, I fell passionately in love with Tarzan," Goodall said, although she wasn't exactly a fan of his "wimpy wife, Jane."

"I was so jealous of her. I was quite sure I'd be a better mate for Tarzan myself, which I would have been, don't you think? That was my dream when I was about 10 -- I would go to Africa, live with animals and write books about ...
