Theatre may as well be brewed in Dublin along with Guinness, considering all the talent Ireland has exported, and every October the city welcomes imports as well. This year's Dublin Theatre Festival beckons Dickens across the Irish Sea as Peter Ackroyd's The Mystery of Charles Dickens bows under the direction of Patrick Garland. Mystery merges narrator, author and the author's cast of characters into a piece for one actor, the estimable Simon Callow. (OCT 1-13; 353 1 677 8439; www.eircomtheatrefestival.com)
