Charles Dickens female characters are traditionally stereotyped into three types, namely, evil, angelic and comic. This shows Dickens' oversimplified view about man-woman relationships. However, Dickens' Flora Finching in 'Little Dorrit,' who may first seem another of his comic characters, has true kindness and a shrewd common sense beneath her foolish behavior. Although her mental state may appear questionable, her capricious dialogues are actually an offshoot of her role-playing. Flora Finching is one of those characters that seem capable to live beyond the confines of the novel.
