THIS might be one of the least filmed of Dickens' stories, but it's got an allstar cast led by the venerable Sir Derek Jacobi.

However, even he had never read the book!

"I was doing a film in Romania at the time so I scoured Bucharest for a copy," he reveals. "I walked into one bookshop and it was extraordinary, there was The Old Curiosity Shop! I bought it, read it and loved it.

"This isn't one of the more popular Dickens books, like Oliver Twist or David Copperfield, but they are all full of wonderful characters and wonderful ...
