Smart juvenile pacer Julius Caesar beat the older pacers over 2400m at the Ashburton trials yesterday.

Christian Cullen's younger brother was a neck winner of the non- win mobile heat in 3min 06.7sec, with the leaders sprinting in over their last 800m in 57.6, and the 400m in 27.2.
