SCOTLAND have stolen the talented popster Paolo Nutini from under the Italians' noses. The Paisley lad is our James McFadden when it comes to the music battle.

Paolo leads a gifted squad that includes The View, Calvin Harris, K T Tunstall, Franz Ferdinand and the Fratellis.

Coupled with an experienced bench that includes the likes of Simple Minds, Proclaimers, Craig Armstrong, Jesus and Mary Chain and Deacon Blue, we are a team to be reckoned with, just so long as loose cannon Primal Scream's Bobby Gillespie, above, controls his temper.
