IN CORONATION Street she was Carmel, the nanny from hell, and in Ballykissangel she played the tough policewoman, Frankie Sullivan.

Now, Catherine Cusack, below , is tackling one of English literature's more enigmatic writers.

She is Anne Bronte in the new drama Bronte, exploring the lives of the three sisters and their brother, Branwell, at the parsonage at Haworth.

Written and directed by Polly Teale for the touring theatre company, Shared Experience, the drama arrives at the Liverpool Playhouse on Tuesday.
